Tanzanite

Tanzanite was discovered in March 1966 on a plateau Merelani , not far from the slopes of Kilimanjaro .
Originally found stones were taken for sapphires, but in 1967 they were identified as a new mineral tanzanite .The mineral is mined only in the province of Arusha in northern Tanzania. The popularity is due to rare and magnificent color.
